3 Things to Pack for a Wine Tour to Napa Valley

If you’re thinking of visiting Napa Valley on a wine tour, you’re making the right decision! With its lush green vineyards, delicious food options, countless fun activities, and some super beautiful places to visit, Napa Valley, Wine Country is the place for wine vacations and tours.

However, if this is your first wine tour, you might be wondering what the best way to proceed is. Here’s a secret: it’s all in the packing!

All you need to make sure of is that you’re comfortable, and that you have everything you need. The rest will unfurl fantastically on its own.

Here’s a list of everything you need for your Napa Valley wine tour.

Water

If you’ve never seen a vineyard before, you need to remember two things.

  1. They’re huge!
  2. There will be a lot of walking involved!

With that in mind, you need to bring a lot of water with you to make sure you don’t get dehydrated, dizzy, or tired. Nothing is more of a buzzkill than getting dehydrated while touring a place with breathtaking views, and missing out on all the fun.

Water also helps wash down the taste of wine when you’re tasting several varieties, helping you judge the flavors better. And while water is always available to buy, taking your own along is a good way to cut down on costs.

Sun Protection

When we say vineyards are huge, it also means that you’ll be seeing a lot of sun, due to the open fields, as well as the fact that there will be sparse shade to shield you from it.

The harsh sun is also why taking early morning tours is advisable; but if you’re going in the afternoon, make sure you pack a lot of sun protection, including sunscreen and a sun hat. You don’t want to get a headache when you’re just looking for a good time and wine.

Extra Shoes

Since there’s a lot of walking on wine tours, it’s a great idea to pack an extra pair of shoes, just in case of a mishap with the ones you’re wearing.
